1.1. Unlocking DL1000 User Accounts

PAR Systems has developed a utility that can be downloaded and run on your machine that adds an unlocked Engineer level user account to your DL1000 system. This account can then be used to unlock any of your other user accounts.

The instructions below will help you through the process.

1. Confirm which version of Windows the DL1000 PC is running
   1. Hold down the Windows key and press ‘R’
   2. Type winver
   3. Press Enter
   4. A window will pop up showing your Windows version
2. Download the unlock utility from the downloads section below that matches your Windows version.
3. Move this .zip file to the DL1000 PC and extract the folder.
4. Run the ‘AddEngineeer2.exe’ application inside.
5. A new user named ‘Engineer2’ with password = “password” will be created.
6. Login with this user
7. Go to the ‘Users’ screen
8. Under ‘Existing User Name’, select the account that is locked out
9. Press the ‘Unlock User’ button
10. Access is restored to the system
11. For security reasons, you may want to remove the newly created 'Engineer2' account.
